Quel est cet autre dont la conscience aurait été évacuée du corps, dont on craint le sang et les dents? Judith invite à observer la séparation entre l’humain et le moins qu’humain dans une performance où se croisent savoirs situés, spéculation, codes du cinéma et culture populaire. À partir de son travail communautaire et militant auprès de personnes qui consomment des drogues, Sarah Chouinard-Poirier creuse l’espace du deuil et tente de réveiller ses mort.es afin qu’iels viennent mordre les biopouvoirs hygiénistes, racistes et classistes qui régissent les substances et les corps. Par l’humour, la citation, la confession, l’incarnation et le travail avec les espaces, l’artiste interroge les politiques, le langage et les métaphores empruntées aux morts-vivants, révélant comment ces imaginaires servent à monétiser la peur de l’autre dans le contexte de la guerre à la drogue.
Cette performance a été présentée à la Place Publique de la Fonderie Darling, au Centre d’art actuel DRAC en collaboration avec le Centre d’art et de diffusion CLARK. Judith sera présentée au bar La Rockette à Montréal dans le cadre OFFTA les 2, 6 et 7 juin 2026.

Who is this other being, whose consciousness has supposedly been expelled from the body, whose blood and teeth we fear? Judith invites us to observe the divide between the human and the subhuman in a performance where situated knowledge, speculation, cinematic codes, and popular culture intersect. Drawing on their community and activist work with people who use drugs, Sarah Chouinard-Poirier explores the space of mourning and attempts to reawaken the dead so that they may bite into the hygienist, racist, and classist biopowers that sanctions substances and bodies. Through humor, quotation, confession, embodiment and spatial work, the artist interrogates the politics, language, and metaphors borrowed from the undead, revealing how these imaginaries serve to monetize the fear of the other in the context of the war on drugs.
The first iteration of this performance was presented on May 3, 2025 at the Centre d'art actuel DRAC in collaboration with the Centre d'art et de diffusion CLARK. Judith will be performed at La Rockette bar in Montreal as part of the OFFTA festival on June 2, 6, and 7, 2026.
